The arts are an opportunity to explore, create and have fun. Kids of all ages can relate to the universal appeal of music, theater, and dance. It is for this reason that we bring to you a series of classes that challenge kids to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. The intention is to have fun through imagination and play. All Classes are offered through Crane River Theater. The final day of classes will include a performance for families and friends. All classes are generously supported by the Nebraska Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. Specific class content questions should be directed toward Crane River Theatre at 627-5796.
IT’S SHOWTIME!: 3rd-5th Grade. *$75
Learn what it takes to be a part of a show, including the auditions, casting, rehearsal process, and finally, putting on the show for friends and family. Kids will create characters, stage scenes, and learn choreography, all while focusing on creativity, collaboration, and communication. This summer’s show will be Pinkalicious! Based on the popular book series, this is the tale of a girl who can’t stop eating pink cupcakes. After a few too many, she ends up with Pinkititis, which turns her pink from head to toe! Join us for this awesome performance opportunity!
DINOS AND DRAGONS: K-2nd Grade. *$30
Travel to when Dinosaurs roamed the land and when mythical Dragons lurked behind every corner! Use your imagination to create never-before-seen creatures and go on adventures through jungles, castles, and caves. The sky’s the limit, so flap those dragon wings and stomp those T-Rex feet and join us for stories, games and songs about Dinos and Dragons!
BROADWAY BOUND: 6th-8th Grade. *$40
Give my regards to Broadway! Crane River Theater cast members will team up with participants for a final performance in this one-of-a-kind class as they dive into the songs and scenes of Broadway’s biggest musicals. Take the stage as your favorite characters from Newsies, Hamilton, and Wicked!
There is a $10 supply fee (for each class), that includes a t-shirt, payable to Crane River Theater at the first class.
